Univers-Log GmbH is a German logistics company moving freight across Europe. We built them a site with a calculator where clients work out the cost of a shipment in two clicks.
The old site ran on a WordPress template and looked like dozens of other carriers' sites. To find out a price, clients had to call or write, and managers priced every request by hand.
Logistics buyers compare three or four carriers before they call anyone. The site had to win that comparison in the first few seconds.
A website on our own base, so the budget went into the calculator, design and content instead of rebuilding a CMS.
"Angebotsanfrage" sits in the header, on the first screen and after each service. The form asks only what a dispatcher needs.
All of the company's services: containers, oversized loads, special machinery, refrigerated freight, warehousing and more. Each has its own page with photos and details.
A section for the routes they run across Europe. These pages answer searches like "freight to Poland" that a home page never ranks for.
15+ years in business, 20+ countries, fixed prices, cargo insurance, customs handling. The facts a buyer checks first.
Guides on customs, documents and cargo types. They bring search traffic and give the sales team links to send to clients.
A "Galerie" section with photos of the company's shipments. Buyers see real trucks and cargo, not stock images.
The price of a shipment depends on the route, and clients want to know it before they write to a manager. We let them work it out themselves, without calls or long forms.
What we decided against: a separate mobile app
We first considered an app for clients. We chose to put everything in the browser instead: the calculator opens on any device without installing anything, and the client does not pay for separate iOS and Android builds. That saved both money and time to launch.
The page with all of the company's services, on desktop and on a phone.
Compared with the old WordPress site.
Enquiries from the site and the calculator go straight to the client's CRM, so every one is counted and none is lost.
The client came back with a new project
After the launch, the client came back to us with an order for their next project.
From the first call to launch in one month. The team: a designer, two developers, a business analyst and a project manager.
Route calculator, pages for every service, country pages, Ratgeber blog, logistics lexicon, gallery
